Will the Tesla Cyberquad be shown on Jay Lenos Garage?

To my knowledge it hasn’t been shown yet, obviously some footage from the trailer for the new season didn’t make the episode’s final cut. The episode was uploaded onto CNBC’s YouTube channel, I’m curious if additional footage will eventually be uploaded to the Jay Leno’s Garage channel. A few...

    Salvage Titles and Supercharging

I can’t remember which video it was, but I think he mentioned it was around $2K for him to have his car re-certified by Tesla if I remember right. Then, months later they decided to disable the supercharging yet again. I don’t believe he received any kind of refund for the recertification either.

    Is Range king?

Yeah, overall we've been quite happy with our ownership. If the liftgate alignment had been corrected properly the first time, I had have no complaints and still happily own our 2018. I see no problems with my daughter's Model 3 and expect it to be a reliable car for several years for her.

    Is Range king?

They were great about replacing the charge port, parts do fail. When there's a grey area such as alignment, that seems to be an Achilles heel for them. It's one thing to have misaligned trim pieces, but when body panels are significantly off that's quite another story in my opinion. I'm not...

    Is Range king?

Yes, we had a handful of issues with our 2018 Model X. It ended with us having to get an attorney. Long story a bit shorter, the issues we had were: Misaligned lift gate: I spoke to a service manager, he agreed that it just needed to come down on the driver side, there was no reason for them...

    Is Range king?

Charging infrastructure has definitely reduced range anxiety for me. The one pain I see is when towing though, it's hassle having to disconnect your trailer if there's isn't a pull in spot available or enough open spots to come in side ways (assuming no one else needs one of those spots). When...

Money saving idea for Tesla (for deliveries)

Ideally the pandemic will be over by the time the CT starts rolling out, but Tesla has made some changes over the years to it's deliver process even pre-pandemic. Late last year/early this I believe is when they started offering in-person orientation sessions. They were doing this to try and...

    Is Range king?

It worked out a bit different for us, we went through a lemon law on the 2018 and we ended up with a 2020 Long Range in December, which thanks to a software update is now a Long Range Plus. I don't think the extra 60 miles of range, cold weather package, premium sound, and biohazard that we...

Money saving idea for Tesla (for deliveries)

Tesla used to offer vehicle pickups at the factory in Fremont, but sounds like they might have discontinued that some time in 2018. I read somewhere they may have started doing it again in limited amounts, or at least by a delivery center near the Fremont factory to help get cars delivered...

    Is Range king?

We had a 2018 Model X 75D, it had an EPA rating of 235 miles of range. If we had gone up to the 100D, back in 2018 it would have cost an extra $16K (with some additional premium features that are now standard) and bumped up to 295 miles, I didn't see the ROI for an extra 60 miles of range at...

The Cybertruck is NOT a "Pickup Truck". So what is it?

“Ours is not even a truck, it’s a friggin’ tank from the future!” @elonmusk

Do You Currently Drive an EV?

We have a Model X and still have our 2012 LEAF. Picked up a Ryobi electric zero turn mower last week after our Toro pretty much died, so no more trips to the gas station for me now.

FSD / Autopilot safety vs liberty

The Autopilot on my Model X was “not available” several times during a heavy rain storm a couple months ago, it was a quick reminder how much more enjoyable the commute is for me when it’s not all manual. I have a feeling I’ll rely on FSD nearly all the time once it’s available.

I posted this link on Dids’s Poll as well, but I think this might give a different perspective where Elon has compared FSD to manual elevator operation before it became automated. https://www.zdnet.com/article/elon-musk-on-teslas-autopilot-in-a-year-a-human-intervening-will-decrease-safety/

FSD / Autopilot safety vs liberty

Here’s an article that has more context from Musk’s comments around elevator operation and FSD. He mentions allowing humans to “operate 2 ton death machines”. He also says human intervention will DECREASE safety...

FSD / Autopilot safety vs liberty

This isn't a direct quote, I'm going off memory on this one, but I remember Elon talking about the Robo Taxi fleet. He compared it to elevator operation back in the day when they used to be manually controlled by human operators. Apparently there were deaths from human error. Sometimes you...

Nope, it saves all your settings! I’ll have to test the Controls settings, I’m not sure if these can be saved to individual driver profiles

Full Self Driving (FSD) gets closer to reality as Teslas can now autostop at traffic lights and stop signs.

The FSD visualization has shown stoplight color changes since an update earlier this year, they probably need more data from a safety and regulatory standpoint before they can allow the vehicles to automatically respond. It’s impressive what they’ve been able to accomplish thus far and will...

Tesla is constantly working on improvements to their software. I just got an update to 2020.12.6 on our Model X today which introduces Traffic Light and Stop Sign recognition which is a Beta release. Many options in controls for various settings of a Tesla, these are the current settings for...
