Adding inverse current has been used for decades and is very effective in preventing corrosion on bridges and buildings that are earth grounded. It has been used (arguably effectively) in the auto industry.
And my primary concern is not the body corroding. It's fasteners, structural components...
I'm not planning to intentionally, of course I don't with any other vehicle that I've owned that has succumbed to salt. Unless they can button up the Cybertruck to prevent ALL water from getting in, it's going to corrode. Plus, the more water tight you make it, the harder it is for the water...
This is also a company that manufactures cars that corrode in the salt just like any other manufacturer. I was hoping that the Cybertruck would last much, MUCH longer thinking that the entire structure would be stainless steel (as i think many of us did). But now I find out it has an aluminum...
I wonder what steps will be taken to mitigate galvanic corrosion now that we know the Cybertruck will have a stainless body on an aluminum sub frame.
I was concerned about this from the beginning, will the Cybertruck be all stainless or will just the exoskeleton be stainless and then rot...
I'd like to be able to make custom user profiles where you can also set the drivetrain parameters and behavior. You could make a "Classic-Mode" profile where you can set the throttle to simulate coasting when you let your foot off and then re-gen to occur when you lightly apply the brakes (with...
Did I mention ballistic flotation option for ice fishermen?
Also, you could put fishing pole holders on the sides using the T slots.
Just a side note; I can't wait to cook breakfast for my fishing buddies on the tail gate of my Cybertruck!
I think the frunk should be refrigerated. You could turn it on while you are at the grocery store, then put your ice cream in the frunk with the rest of your groceries and they wouldn't melt/spoil on the way home. This could apply to all Teslas as well.
Also, it should be hosable outable...
Gawd! Seriously?!?! Please, please, PLEASE!!! Can I get thrusters on my Cybertruck?!?! I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE it if there was an option to add thrusters to the Cybertruck. Actually, make it modular, add as many as you like (factory expansion package)!!! BRING IT ON TESLA!!!
Perhaps dielectric grease will be standard on all connectors. This raises a question, what connectors does Tesla use? Metripack like the big 3? I'm a Tesla newbie so this is all new to me.
I'd really like to know (not necessarily a deal breaker) if the tri-motor Cybertruck is the "plaid" Cybertruck or is there one more (secret) level of performance beyond regular tri-motor? And if so, how much? I WANT IT!!!
I'd like clarification about, "will even float for a while". How long is a while? About as long as any other car before it goes deep six?
Wouldn't it be great if you could take your Cybertruck out on the ice and go ice fishing? If you DID happen to fall through, perhaps the Cybertruck...
I'd like to see access plugs. Tesla should put little holes in the firewall, body, underside, etc so guys like me can run wires, hoses, etc to the outside for mounting our own options (lights, hydraulics, antennas, smoke screen, missile launcher, etc). I'm getting excited just thinking about it!!!
I'm talking about this... Part of it looks stamped on the inside. If I'm not mistaken, both Elon and Sandy said stamping 30X stainless isn't going to happen.
I keep hearing how the exoskeleton is going to be 30X cold rolled stainless steel and I think that's A HUGE influence on my purchase decision of what appeals to me in the Cybertruck. However, my question is, what ISN'T going to be stainless? Are we all assuming that the internal structure is...
What is the number one question you have about Cybertruck that could influence your purchase decision depending on the answer you get from Tesla (or Musk)?
