That sounds like a pretty good use for the E-tint, I wasn't thinking necessarily along those lines. But, nonetheless, it's a good idea. My main thing was night vs day driving by reducing the tint at night to provide better visibility. We aren't allowed to tint more than a shade strip at the top...
From what I saw about wrapping stainless, the metal has less adhesion if it is brushed. The car wrap material has channels in the adhesive to release air bubbles but, also causes it not to stick. If you sand the truck smooth it should stick.
That's a good idea, I was mainly going for the way the grid fins on the Falcon 9 initially deploy.
However, it may be easier and a bit sturdier in that format.
Definitely a lot of great information here. At this point I will continue developing the step design I posted. It will be as a contingency plan if the truck doesn't lower enough. Thanks for the help.
Zhe Wiz, I looked around and found this.
"Not only does the Cybertruck have adaptive damping and ride height, but the air suspension is manually adjustable. This system offers up to 16 inches of ground clearance and 4 inches of ride height adjustment. " here's the link...
K Doc Brown 007, Makes sense, however, how low can it get? The main reason I'm designing the step is so that my Mom and possibly others can benefit from it if the truck won't go low enough. She has issues even getting into my stock height Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Jhodgesatmb, Thanks for the help...
Previously there was a thread on side steps, tonneau covers, attachments etc. However, this thread is separate to explain what I came up with.
I have an idea for a foldable/retractable side step that utilizes the Falcon 9 grid fin design. At first I was hoping it could be pneumatically...
It was mentioned that a portion of the stainless from Starship would be utilized in Cybertruck production.
"The body of the Cybertruck will be cold-rolled stainless steel, just like that of Starship"...
I decided to take a look for a sidestep that would look nice with the Cybertruck, I know it is not retractable but I think it might fit well with the design. Let me know what you think. :unsure...
I have been thinking about asking if they could add a factory option for smart tint. I've been looking at it for a while to tint the windows on an electric VW Bug I'm currently working on. I have vision issues during both the day and night due to brightness...
