hate to be pessimistic but it's highly unlikely given the Cybertrucks pricing and the fact that it isn't part of the more "luxury line-up" that the X and S fall into. I doubt the Y and 3 will see it either,
That said, hopefully this comment ages poorly and I am entirely wrong. It would be awesome.
I honestly don't see the appeal of the R1T over the CT (thinking in terms of Tri-motor here). Why pay more money for a vehicle that gets 100 less miles, especially if you plan to be "exploring" in it?
to me the only thing that I could see the R1T beating out the CT on would be aesthetics, which...
I'd say you're spot on... The solar problem may just be that people are not stepping back outside the box enough to take a fresh look at it. I'm sure people are, to be fair, but so far it's been less than impressive on the innovation front. 25-30% efficiency is far from mind blowing
I don't have much knowledge about thin film panels, I primarily just dealt with the large format 350W-ish panels which are already just about the size of the tonneau cover. I truly hope that solar panel efficiency can be improved, but given the lack of improvement over the last few years my...
I used to install solar arrays for a living on both roof tops and ground mounts... with the technology of today Elon is very much correct that it is of minimal practical use for something like the CT, assuming you only had the tonneau cover's surface area to work with. You could use it to keep...
I see, so you're talking about seeing the white buffalo test vehicle rolling down the street, snapping some footage of it and/or getting some interior shots if it happens to be parked. Count me in, I just want updates at this point, the amount of info we've been operating off of for over a year...
spotted on the roads shortly? I don't think there will be enough CT's on the roads for anyone to really be seeing them with any relative frequency until mid 2022 at best.
Assuming they have finalized their design, both interior and exterior, it would be great to have promotional videos...
the counter is definitely flawed inherently... you will get your CT "sooner" than what the counter predicts... that said, "sooner" is relative, given that the true deciding factor will be how soon the CT is in full scale production, and who actually finalizes their order when they finally get...
Maybe I am preaching to the crowd here given that this forum is dedicated to the CT... but while this car looks quite nice on the interior from a "traditional" luxury standpoint, I truly am a huge fan of the minimalism that Teslas have, especially the CT...
When I see a car with a ton of...
Ahh yep, totally get it now. Truly hope we do have the ability to drop the rear seats forward and open up the whole truck to the vault, idk how it would work with the rolling tonneau cover mechanism in there but I'm sure if they want to figure it out they will.
Lol yeah if the down payment secured you a $7k tax credit that would certainly change the game. I truly hope that is still available by the time the CT's roll off the line in full production numbers
Honestly, I couldn't care less about gaining actual range with the solar option... but if it could simply offset the typical battery drain that results from the CT sitting still for a few days (airport parking lot or camping trip) I'd be happy assuming it doesn't cost $10k as an upgrade option
I suppose that could be a possibility, but realistically don't you think that would just absolutely ruin the Tesla fanbases' perception of the company?
Given that Elon has said multiple times that scaling the CT for production is going to be more difficult than anticipated, I certainly won't...
I hear you there. At the same time a 10% downpayment to solidify an actual line number and have a delivery date that I could more heavily rely on would be worth it to me, while the rest of my money works in the market for 1+yrs... This is obviously subjective,
