haha... I hope not. That could be a motorcycle... and the crumple zone of that might be the rider, sad to say. I can't wait to see the final pictures, specifications and maybe get a deep look either online (Tesla.com) or in a brochure. peace
Hey Luke, In the pre-"lectric world, I had a hard time driving anything truck-wise other than GM. I had tried to look at other builds, but my brain simply wouldn't let me do anything else. Now, with Elon and the new CyberTruck, I'm actually excited to try something so new and feature-filled...
Not all larger tires are heavier, especially when coupled with certain wheels... some use technology and materials that retain, and maybe even enhance strength, yet keep weight low. Interesting.
A larger wheel/tire isn't necessarily heavier than what comes on the CT - a lot of possibilities here. In fact, I will be putting forth effort to reduce unsprung weight. And, if this is the case, possibly less spinning mass..., acting against the torque. A larger tire doesn't necessarily have...
Yes, a larger tire will reduce low speed torque; however, range will likely be enhanced. Consider, a larger tire has a greater circumference. This greater circumference, when rotated one time, results in a longer distance traveled than a smaller tire with lesser circumference. At speed, the...
Don't forget, you can air-down too... giving another 3-4" of clearance. Or should I say, you can program the CT to air-down for you as you approach your garage; then air-up as you leave. peace
I would do everything humanly possible to put 40s under CT. When I look at it with 35s, it looks like the tire/wheel combo doesn't fit to the scale of the huge CT. To me, 40s will go a long way to resolving this dilema. peace
Great video, thanks for the thoughtful insight.
I tend to go very simple here: Put a suspension under the CT that actively checks dozens of parameters, millions of times per second and makes incremental changes to constantly better the performance of the box on top of it, and that would be...
A huge change in the CT is this exoskeleton construction. My question is how does this exoskeleton function in a wreck... vs another vehicle, vs a person, vs a tree, or whatever? I'm very concerned when I think about the CT vs a person; but, I'm also wondering about our own safety with no real...
Elon and team could make airless tires for the CT, and they should. The big problem is tire manufacturers don't want anything to do with this, nor do they want anyone else to do with this. Replacing tires due to wear, leaks, catastrophic failure, are all things that keep them in business. So...
No, but Tesla could sell trailers mapped within the CT software. All dynamic information known and mapped. It would be added cost, but this isn't a short term investment. This is life from here on. peace
All this and more is why it was so important to lock in at an early price point. Elon wants the CT to set the bar, and I have a feeling we aren't even scratching the surface. Much more to come, I expect, as they continue development, but especially as they enter full production. A truck is...
To me, the key to any sizable load on an EV, is to fit the trailer with a skateboard battery that plugs up to a fitted charge port on the rear of the vehicle. This would allow the trailer battery to supplement the vehicle's battery, all the way. Another benefit of the skateboard on a trailer...
For me, I cannot pick one thing. I love the exoskeleton design, and how it won't dent or scratch easily. I also love that as I get older, and I see my driving ability suffer for various reasons; I can rely on my CT to drive me safely to my destinations (not to mention finding ME in a very...
I would like to see something inventive. The CT has already shattered the box in design, why should its key be anything overly simplistic. Too, I would like the valet function to be on my iPhone, where I can simply say into my phone, "set valet 1" or "set valet 2", and my CT allows for another...
If anything, I would look to tone down the stainless shine with a matte dark medium gray. But, I like the utility of the stainless, for heavy vegetation on sparsely used trails. peace
Yeah, Hummer will likely try to slip a battery into an existing Hummer. This was Elon's FIRST LESSON with the Elise- do not convert an ICE engined vehicle, start from scratch. Leave it to GM and the fat and lazy corporate guys to screw this all up. peace
