I was thinking along the lines of what Crissa said. Vehicle had to be registered in your name and maintained registration for say 5yrs. Maintaining that registration would take a serious hit on that incentive. I don't know what it is to registered a 1/2 ton in other states but in CA is around...
Something I have pondered as a new style of EV incentive that, at least as a brief thought experiment could potentially make a larger impact on CO2 "relative to just a general tax incentive":
Make the Tax incentive relevant to trucks and truck owners/operators. In other words, if you buy an EV...
Elons hinted at the plaid
Apparently the plaid cybertruck is more than just the tri-motor but what more means is unknown.

Elon said the Plaid Cybertruck would be more than just the tri-motor. Its vague but apparently more to it than trimotor.

When I read that post I literally said the same thing in my head. What you said it also the exact reason I drive my truck. Sometimes I'm towing, sometimes I'm hauling, sometimes I'm 'Froding', sometimes I'm camping or going backpacking, sometimes I'm just getting groceries or commuting. My truck...
I wonder if ordering the Plaid model will allow you to skip to the front? or how ordering the plaid will work at all. I realize it's all just speculation. Plaid could become available well after production starts.
You're all way off.... it's gonna be cast Unobtanium mined from passing asteroids. The whole Starship Mars thing was just a cover up. It's for mining asteroids. That's why Elon was so upset that they couldn't test the SN9 yesterday. He needs that thing hauling Unobtanium asap to keep the...
I'm thinking more along the line of Fords new full recline front seats. But all 6 seats line up so that its one large area. Not something I really care too much about was just thinking that's something that I haven't seen crewcab trucks accomplish yet.
Side note: I do happen to know that if you...
My only concern is that its just another thing to break. I realize most 1/2 tons have some assist feature on the tailgate these days so I wouldn't be surprised if Cybertruck has a motor. I'm down as long as its rock solid reliable.
Also I wonder if they are gonna stick with the cable-less tail...
I agree, I'm glad Elon decided against making it "5% smaller so it can fit in a normal garage". Grew up in a truck family, as soon as I could afford my dream 1/2 ton crewcab I bought one. My sisters and I all drive or have driven 1/2 tons, we all live scattered across the country, none of us...
I got one I haven't seen...... Its potentially just software update if they don't have it already in mind...
1) Use back EMF vs power input to calculate torsion/ stress on CV joints for options where an individual wheel is controlled by a single motor. I.E tri-motor rear wheels or every wheel...
A thought I was pondering.... with it being an exoskeleton and carrying all the stress on the outside. I wonder if insurance companies writing it off as totaled in crashes that a body on frame car would not be, becomes more common. Here me out, ponder this thought...
Say there is a side...
I noticed it at 4am this morning, thought it was my internet or something. After trying everything, I went to downdetector, and there were 100k reports within 10min haha.
How long can you delay your configuration when you're up to place your order? I realize things could be different for cybertruck, but do you know how long you could delay for the other cars when they launched?
Damn, you found the trail I wanted to be the first one to take a cybertruck through..... although a cybertruck is gonna be really dangerous to get down black bear pass. It's right around raptor width... maybe in between a standard F150 and Raptor width. Which raptors have gone over black bear...
I truly hope there are upgrade points in the design for winch, lights, Night vision camera (because why the hell not) etc..... but something that wouldn't surprise me is if tesla designed their own winch. Given that It has much higher voltages to pull from instead of just 12v.
Maybe a winch...
Yea, I know that's potentially a real stretch to have the production model have a 20% increase in range. Maybe the fact that lucid now has a 517mi sedan will pressure the Cybertruck being that its a truck into having some internal design changes for more batteries to make it well exceed lucids...
