Jet Fuel Nice!!The current main fuel, which is JP-8
What we couldn't see in the rendering is the Tesla-designed ground penetrating radar which detects IEDs up to a depth of 3'.Great and awesome rendering, but with the prevalence of IEDs this is just a pipe dream. No pun intended. All tactical vehicles now have a “V” shaped hull to disperse the boats from IEDs on vehicles. Flat tactical vehicle designs are a thing of the past or until IEDs are a thing of the past.
The rendering is pretty badass tho!
You won't need a grid everywhere to charge these vehicles. What you need is a tanker truck with an electric generator making electricity for a fleet of vehicles which is a lot less volume than a convoy of tanker trucks hauling fuel oil.Nice renderings but I would not hold my breath waiting for uncle sam to implement a 1st world machine into the battlefield environment. The current main fuel, which is JP-8, is a nearly universal fuel used across a wide spectrum of vehicles by the military from aircraft, scout motorcycles, trucks, armor, tanks, and some patrol boats. Until we can thoroughly saturate the world with dependable superchargers that the "bad guys" cannot interrupt the battlefield will still run on oil. An electrical grid is a pretty soft target and easy to shut-down. Also, remember time is not on your side in a tactical situation.
In the Coast Guard, specifically the HC-130 community we produced a lot of "drained" fuel that had to be dealt with. Each day all aircraft had to have the moisture sumps drained and cataloged. On average you would pull about 2-3 gallons off each aircraft in the process till you had clean and bright fuel. That fuel was fair game to anyone with an oil heater for their off-base home or anyone with a diesel truck. Needless to say, a few P.O.V (Privately Owned Vehicles) had a rather familiar scent when traveling around the base and into town in Kodiak, AK. Otherwise, we had to pay a contractor to haul the contaminated fuel off the island. It separates out pretty easy so it was no problem for trucks and boilers but was no longer legal for aircraft.Jet Fuel Nice!!
